Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV) is a mandatory process for all vehicles circulating on the streets and roads of Argentina. Recently, changes have been announced regarding the deadlines and costs of this procedure. In the province of Buenos Aires, the cost of the VTV has increased by 17.9%, reaching $63,436. Meanwhile, in the City of Buenos Aires, the price is now $52,878 for cars and $19,800 for motorcycles.
According to official reports, a new deadline calendar has been established for the year 2025. Vehicles with license plates ending in 0 will have to renew the VTV before October 30, while those ending in 9 have until September 30. This schedule extends throughout the year, with staggered dates for each license plate ending.
One important aspect of the VTV is the condition of the windshield, which must be in optimal condition. Any scratch, dent, or chip that affects visibility and poses a risk to the safety of the occupants may lead to the rejection of the vehicle during the inspection. In addition to checking the windshield, other parts such as the bumper and windshield wipers are inspected.
Presidential Spokesperson Manuel Adorni has announced modifications to the deadlines for completing the VTV, requiring this verification starting from the fifth year after the registration date for new cars, and every two years for non-private vehicles. The importance of this procedure is highlighted in ensuring that cars are in safe conditions and preventing accidents due to mechanical failures.
It is essential for drivers to pay attention to the general condition of their vehicle when taking it to the workshop for the VTV, including the windshield, chassis, brakes, and other essential components for safe driving.
